The Antares -
I grew up in southern Jersey at the shore on a boat dock, most of my family and friends were fishermen. This boat is from a photo that I took while visiting my family in Cape May, New Jersey. I named it the Antares, which is the name of a boat that my Uncle Gene once owned. I was told the name means the brightest star in the southern sky. The boat is very detailed and I named the wharf across the way after my grandfather's dock, "Oswald's Marina", which really was over in that direction... as we natives called it "across the little bridge". It took me a very long time to paint this, I was very careful with all the detail. The original painting is acrylic and the size is 40'' x 30''.
